Dwell on Design Exclusive House Tour: Redcliff Residence
I was unable to wait Dwell on Design this year, but luckily DoD offered to capture probably the most homes at the tour exclusively for AGOF.net. See all of this year’s exclusive 2011 Dwell on Design house tours here.
We’re at the Eastside of los angeles this week touring a couple of homes including this one located in Silver Lake.
The Redcliff Residence is a 2,000 square foot home on a hill. The renovation by DEX Studio, led by designer Glen Bell, included adding a second floor, changing the outside, and reconfiguring the floorplan at the first floor.
An important aspect of the remodel was adding how you can profit from the views, including an addition 800 square feet of balcony space. The sloped roof and addition adds interest to the outside. The landscape of tiered planters and steps makes me jealous after I check out my very own backyard and spot the overgrown weeds. I also particularly just like the furnishings during this home. Not overcrowded or expected, the furniture and artwork is easily chosen, one of the crucial art was created by one of many homeowners.
A Fun Option to Customize Your Flower displays: Wig
Here is a post for all of you available in the market that love gardening and constantly enjoy experiencing new flower decorating ideas. Designer Tania da Cruz figured there has been more to wig supports than commonly thought. Consequently, she designed a system that may feed plants and grow them at the exterior of the wig support. Here’s a small description from the designer: “Ironic, fun and fresh! Wig is a ceramic white vase whose delicate feminine features evoke Modiglianesque shapes and silhouettes. Wig allows users to experiment and create delightful floral hairdos. By transforming the character of its setting and surroundings and stealing a smile from those passing by, Wig feels destined to attract attention.” We’re curious to read your feedback about this concept. Does it seem to be something you ought to have in your house or garden?
Get Out! Haskell’s New Trapa Planters
Haskell Collection has introduced its first series of modular planters, called Trapa. I’m digging the form.
Made of thick 11 gauge 100% recycled domestic aluminum, the post are available 6″ or 12″ heights. There are two steel stand sizes (12″ or 24″ height) for multiple looks and variations. Stainless frame feet and a triple layer powder coat add an environmentally sound and additional durable finish to those original solutions which are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
