The Pink Swan Project

SUITE New York’s The Pink Swan Project is a sequence of chairs designed by 18 internationally-recognized designers, with the intention to be auctioned off to profit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Donated by Fritz Hansen, the Swan chairs would be auctioned on Charitybuzz.com during October, that is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While the auction runs, a weekly rotation of chairs would be on display within the Gagosian Shop on Madison Avenue while the remainder of the chairs rest in SUITE Ny’s showroom on Park Avenue.

Minimalist Japanese Residence Flaunting an attractive Facade Observing the Cell Brick House from the surface makes you wonder how the interiors of this amazing architectural building are shaped. The outside of the home is what makes it so special. It displays a captivating pattern of holes that stand up from a pebble-covered base. Small steel boxes were placed one on top of the following to shape an oblong block that shelters the inner living spaces. Atelier Tekuto, the designers of the Cell Brick House, describe their challenges: “The primary was to mix opposing architectonics; the masonry structure that is the origin of the building technique and the surface structure which i’ve been trying on my projects. And the second one was to innovate something that equips structure, function and warmth environment altogether.” By combining specific measurements for the steel bricks, the architects were ready to make sure the interiors could have the precise temperature and sunlight all year round. By covering the bricks with a heat resistant ceramic-infused coating, the home is protected against overheating. The interiors are dropped at life by the non-public belongings of the inhabitants, displayed at the special shelves. This creates an enticing personalized space that may become slightly overwhelming on occasion. All in all, the residence is a step further within the way we glance at residential architecture.
